Huntly and District Pipe Band is a recreational band based in and around the Aberdeenshire market town of Huntly Scotland.
Formed in 1948 by Gordon Highlanders returning home from service in WWII, the band is a big part of the social scene in Huntly, initiating concerts, dances and Burns suppers as well as taking part in local Highland Games. The Band celebrated its Diamond Anniversary in 2008 and in that year had the huge honour of being invited to Balmoral to perform privately for the Queen.
The Band has now got a very active piping programme for youngsters and for the first time in the Band’s history boasts a Junior Band with 14 members. |
