We are a community pipe band based in Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands off the North coast of Scotland. The Band was formed on Armistice Day, 1919 by soldiers returning from the war. The Band has a strong link with the Seaforth Highlanders, whose tartan we wear to this day.We fulfil various public engagements throughout the year, including regular parades on Broad Street, in Kirkwall, opposite the magnificent St Magnus Cathedral. We teach bagpipes and drums and play at many local functions throughout the year. We also compete at Grade 4A level. |
