Your local branch are in need of additional stewards to provide assistance at our competitions (indoor and outdoor). Duties include the following; Outdoor – to collect bands and take them to a tuning area before their designated playing time, giving them time for a tune-up before entering the competition arena Indoor -to collect the player/band and take them to the designated room so they are there for the allocated time to play. With additional stewards this will help with time keeping to the best ability during the day of competitions. The Branch are looking for a 3rd Director. Day-to-day Directors duties. Firstly, you must be fit and able to carry out a whole days activities on your feet. The Worlds Championships carries a 12 hour day. Majors: you will receive posted instructions for your day. Morning meetings begin approx 1 hour before competition starting time. This allows you to receive any pullouts or changes to the days running order. Within the Arena: you will make sure all adjudicators are in place, announce bands as they enter (if there is a PA system), timing the Medley sets for Gr3, 2 &1. Education and Certification opportunity for all this Autumn. The Branch have been able to arrange classes to be held at Robert Gordon’s College, Aberdeen, over two full weekends. There will be an initial introduction day for band tutors to gain more information on standards / level of assistance required to supplement tuition at classes.
