Education and Certification opportunity for all this Autumn.
The Branch have been able to arrange classes to be held at Robert Gordon’s College, Aberdeen, over two full weekends. There will be an initial introduction day for band tutors to gain more information on standards / level of assistance required to supplement tuition at classes. The date for this will 24th September and final assessments will be on 9th December, details are as follows:-
- 24th September, information & advice in Laurencekirk
- 7th/8th October, classes at Robert Gordon’s (10am – 4pm each day)
- 18th/19th November, classes at Robert Gordon’s (10am – 4pm each day)
- final assessments will on Sat 9th December 2017.
HQ Glasgow will provide instructors and assessors
The classes aim to support and develop the varying levels of learning and teaching provided at band level (or other sources) to meet the standards required to gain a qualification. Information on the requirements for the various levels can be found at PDQB.org (under Certificates and Learning) and also at collegeofpiping.org/examinations.
It should be noted that anyone who wishes to sit SCQF6 in Piping will need to arrange their own Piobaireachd tuition and advise accordingly so our Music Board representatives can then arrange with the RSPBA Education Officer so that a qualified Assessor can be present on the assessment day.
PLEASE highlight this information to all Pipe Majors / Leading Drummers / Tutors and circulate widely as such opportunities are limited.
